Crying Emoji on Desktop

Hello, I have a crying emoji on my desktop that cannot be deleted. It only shows on the desktop and does not appear on screenshots. I have also tried to highlight and then delete to no avail. Please has anyone ever experienced this situation or can offer some advice?
