Clean up to make more space on my macbook

I used to enter the storage section to check which files and folders are consuming most of my drive.

I can see a different interface after signing in with my iCloud account.

As I understand that Desktop & Documents folders are moved into iCloud and their sizes won't deduct from my local SSD.

These files are on my OneDrive

The files are not moved off your Mac and onto iCloud Drive. They are synchronized between the two except in the case that you choose Optimize Storage and your drive is running out of space. In that case, large, little used files will be offloaded to iCloud Drive.

The only way to move files off your drive to iCloud Drive is to move them to a different folder on iCloud Drive.
