Weird problem with my iPhone 4 screen

Hi Guys,

I can't seem to wipe away smudges on my iPhone screen no matter what I use. My old 3GS was easy, use a cloth or damp one and done. Problem with the my iPhone 4 is it just smudges more and more even when using water, different types of cloths and so forth. It's starting to bug me now cause in the sun light it looks terrible. Before anyone says wash my hands, I always do 🙂

Anyways else have this problem or a solution?

Thanks
G

Hi!

Same problem here.

According to the Service personnel at the Apple Store in Frankfurt (Germany), this condition is completely normal on the iPhone 4 and not covered by their warranty.

The manager of the store called it normal wear - and since the spots only appeared when the display is dirty, it´s not their problem.

I don´t have to mention that I left the store in a pretty bad mood, huh?

Old thread I know, but if anyone is subscribed to this thread. I will tell you that the picture above and the same thing with the rest of the screens, it's all from sweat. See it all the time. The salt in your sweat eats the oleo phobic coating off the screen. When wiped with a microfiber cloth, it looks brand new. As soon as you breathe on the screen or put it in your pocket, the spots show up again. And yes, it's a customer mistake. Some stores are replacing them some aren't. If you clean the screen with microfiber, then put a screen protector over it. You'll never see it again.

Hey guys, I don't mean to plug a product but I'm obsessed with keeping my screens clean (iPhone, iPad, iPod, TV, list goes on...) and honestly the best thing I've found is this product called SuperGawk. It's not chemical based, it's natural and not only does it clean exceptionally well but it actually prevents smudges all together. It's pretty cheap and they're always doing specials on it. I use it on everything glossy I own. http://www.supergawk.com
