What should I do to connect directly to my iPhone I tried a lot of things

I cannot update my iPhone 7+ because I have Wi-Fi from my printer, but I don’t know why I cannot connect directly to my Wi-Fi.

On the iPhone, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. That will clear all of your network and wi-fi settings. Power the iPhone off and back on again, then try to connect to your wi-fi.

Is your printer connected to your network? In other words, do you have internet coming into your home and is the printer connected to that? While a printer can create an ad hoc network, if the printer is not connected to the internet to start with, creating that wi-fi network is not going to help you with you iPhone, since it would not be an internet connection. While you may be able to see wi-fi on the printer, that may just be for connecting the printer to your network. It sounds as if your internet at home does not have wi-fi, is that correct?
