Yes. Request sent to apple. No phone call as the final page stated (In 3 days I would receive a phone call). No email. Zero contact from Apple.

The final communication is not going to be an email, It will be either an SMS or robocall.

If you missed it, they will not communicate again without another request.

To who? If Apple, they would have sent you a message with a timeline for this.

when it is set up under the same # that we are going to run into the password problem.
