iPHOTO ALBUMS

I created new smart albums to arrange the photos by years and then in each year I create an album for each subject.

The way I set it up is:

Date Captured -is in the range-1/1/2020 to 31/12/2020 (European date format)

Album-is not- any

Now this has worked beautifully for the latter years, but when I review the photo library I find that a lot of the pictures have not gone into the smart albums despite having checked the dates.

I have tried restoring the library and the problem persists.

Anyone has an idea as to how I can solve this?
