iCloud Photo Library Disk usage all the week

Hi.

I have the same problem.

I'm monitoring the iCloud Photo Library process on Windows 10.

The process is writing at an average of 200MB / s for the whole week, and I don’t understand where the photo folder doesn’t increase in size.

Photo Library 'originals' folder suddenly grown in size Hello I have recently brought a new MacBook and after signing into iCloud, I could see all my photos available via the photos app. Checking storage on my Mac saw the size of my Photo library come in around 2-3GB, which is what I expected, as I had chosen the option in Photos to Maximise my Mac storage, not download originals. However, after using the laptop in a different location from my home (and having it actually plugged into power as opposed to just running of battery) the size of my Photo library has leapt up to 25GB. Looking in the package contents of the Photo library, I can see that loads of the originals of my photos have now mysteriously downloaded...even though I still have maximise Mac storage selected in the Photos app. As an experiment, I deleted one of the originals (from the originals folder inside the Photos app package contents accessed via the Finder) and it still seems to be viewable in the Photos app... So, can anyone offer any help as to why Photos has suddenly started downloading originals? And can anyone offer any advice on how I can shrink the library back down to around 2GB? Can I just delete the originals from the package contents folder? Many thanks for any help in advance!!

Photo Library Size Discrepency I setup a new MBP (Catalina) for my wife. She downloaded her iCloud Photo Library. I noticed the Photos Library file in Finder says 146GB but in the cloud it says 320GB being used by Photos. So I went into the Photos Library package and the folder called "originals" is 319GB. Why is Finder's size column reporting 146GB when there is definitely over 300GB inside that package?

iCloud photo decrease my local disk space Hi, After turning on iCloud for Photo in my Mac, its actually download all the optimised photo from iCloud to my local disk. Even I turn off the iCloud, and select not to download the photos to my Mac, seems I still have those pictures optimised and occupying my local disk. May I know if the only solution is to deleted all the optimised photo manually in order to free those memory again? Thanks. Any help is appreciated.
