What do you mean? That iPad’s display is fully illuminated. Are you asking why this iPad does not have a bezel less design like the newer iPad Pros? That is because those iPad models have an entirely different display. You cannot have that type of display on your model of iPad.

If you want a iPad with thinner bezels you need to purchase either something like the new more expensive 2019, 10.5 inch iPad Air 3 or the much more expensive 2018/2020 11 or 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models with even thinner screen bezels.
