Question on keeping an email account while changing phones

Hi - I have a unique situation.

I have a very important email account set up on my current (soon to be obsolete) iPhone SE. For a variety of reasons, I will not be able to recover this account if I need to re-add it on a new device. I do not have the password and I will not be able to recover it, so for all intents and purposes, when the login is gone from this physical phone, it will be gone forever. Please do not offer suggestions on how to recover the login credentials to the email account - I will not be able to reset it or re-add the account to a new phone.

My question is: would it be possible to buy a new phone, use it as my primary device, and keep this (still working) iPhone SE without a sim card to access the desired email account? Would Apple prevent me from this because it recognizes I've now moved my Apple ID onto a new device? Any other general suggestions on how I might be able to access this account while eventually moving over to a new device? Thank you

iPhone SE, iOS 11

Accessing the email address shouldn't be a problem just because you got a new phone. Your Apple ID can be signed into more than one device at a time. Signing in on a new device, shouldn't affect the old device.
