My iPad wont turn on (not been used for a long time) have tried charging for a few hours but not working.
Tried resetting, also not working. All I can see if the apple logo and/or the connect to itunes logo. any advice please?

Sounds like the battery is not charging anymore. And casuing the iPad to not be able to boot correctly.
You may need to get it replaced. You can ship it to Apple to get it serviced. See here: iPad Repair - Official Apple Support
Have you tried connecting the iPad to a computer with iTunes? iTunes may show you details as to what to do. It sounds like it needs to be restored or iOS reinstalled.
If its showing the connect to iTunes logo, then that's what you need to do.

I have tried but whenever I unplug from the battery it turns off. Could it be a battery fault?
I thought this too but everytime we unplug from power it turns off and only the Apple logo shows.
