Playing VCD's on Mac, 2020!

I've seen this question asked anywhere from 9-13 years ago. In 2020, is there a way to view VCD's on a Mac? When I place the VCD into my external CD/DVD drive, it will show on my iMac desk top, but I can't play it on any program. Mac DVD, VLC, or QuickTime. No luck. Does anyone have any UTD input they might be able to help me with? Thanks.
