I updated to Catalina OS. I click on The Apple Icon, then System Preferences, then Apple ID and a window asks to update Apple ID settings. I click on continue and it asks for the password for Apple ID which I enter and click OK and I am returned to the page that asks me to update my Apple ID settings. I can't get past this page.
According to a post in this discussion, this is a 'new' known issue that Apple is working on.
