While doing assignments, I often am experiencing blue question marks instead of pictures that are supposed to be inserted. How do I fix this?

Some Other Thoughts:
This is on Canvas by Instructure, many colleges use it. Most college students have Macs and don't have this problem. My Mac is relatively new so I'm guessing I have some sort of software blocked that doesn't allow me to see these pictures but I'm just not sure what it is.

Any Security Software Installed?
If you have Security Software installed on your Mac, then uninstall it. Only get the uninstaller from the Developer. Getting it elsewhere, you may end up with malware installed. The software is blocking this out based on Privacy settings. Security Software just gets in the way on a may. This is a pure example of how, and why they not needed on Macs.
Web site Server Issues:
Too much traffic may be going on. So, items may not be syncing at the moment.

Web site Server Issues:
If clearing those does not work, I would say there is just too much network traffic at the moment for their eraser to handle.
That would likely be so, as many, many students are taking classes out-of-the-house, being they cannot attend them locally at school.
Or, they might be updating their servers.
So, I would contact your peers or the professor/teacher and see if they are having similar problems.
Is this on a web site? If so, that normally means the image isn't available on the server or maybe in a format that the browser cannot display.
You could try ctrl-clicking and download or open in new tab.

Did you Restart your Mac?:
Having just uninstalled the software, restart your Mac. See if does the fix.
I had Anti Virus One downloaded from the app store. I uninstalled it and am still having the issue.
Just restarted, still having the issue.
