Broken iPad? Curve in screen?

Hi everyone,

So my iPad Pro 10.5 has a bend in the screen I bought it from Stormfront in 2017 in December so I’ve have the iPad over 3 years. I’ve not really had any problems with it, however I noticed a curve/bend in the screen on both sides, didn’t really bother me at first but now I’m having issues with my headphone jack, sometimes there’s a static noise when I plug in my headphones. I’ve tried cleaning the jack but still does it. It seems to have stopped now. And also when I try and bend the screen back into place, EVEN JUST NUDGING the bit where it’s bent it will force restart itself. I don’t know if this means it needs repairing or what..... money doesn’t grow on trees I can’t afford to fix it for over £400. I don’t have any cover. I just don’t know what to do with it. I’ve taken good care of it, screen isn’t cracked, no scratches, looks in perfect condition that’s the only problem....... THE BEND/CURVE! Which is affecting my charging, headphone noise and sometimes the iPad shuts off. What to do?

As described, there is a potential issue of swelling/swollen battery - this effectively forcing the screen away from the unibody chassis.

If the battery is swelling, this is potentially serious safety issue. If this is the case, the battery could rupture and cause a fire. Li-ion batteries are generally very safe, but if the battery should be damaged, they can internally short-circuit and spontaneously combust.

On the basis of your description alone, until the iPad is inspected by an Apple Approved technician, I would recommend that you immediately stop using the device. Do not connect an external charger. The iPad should be carefully removed from anywhere containing combustible materials and, ideally, moved outside of your home.

Li-ion batteries don’t like heat. If your device is becoming uncomfortably hot during use, this may be indicative of a fault.

Continued use a damaged or defective device, prior to examination by a qualified technician, is unwise - and entirely at your own risk.

If you need to be convinced of the severity of a Li-ion battery fire - due to battery failure - just “google”.

Mate it’s like a tiny curve when placed on a flat surface.... I don’t think you know what you’re talking about lol.

I want proper advice cause so far all you’re giving me is blabber about how my iPad is gonna explode lol.....

Why would it explode I’ve had it 3 years their batteries are made to not overheat.

I said there’s a slight curve in the model causing my headphones to go static, potential electric shock.

iPad keeps restarting when I carry it or put it down on a hard surface.

I think maybe battery drainage.

I have to use my iPad it’s the only thing I’ve got.... the main issue I think is that I play on heavy games like PUBG MOBILE and ROBLOX while charging. My iPad is always on charge as the battery gets drained a lot. I believe the curve is due to overheating but I’m not sure. I will have it looked at by a technician so they can decide on the issue.
