Activation Lock

I bought a iPhone 5c at a thrift store in perfect condition! I would really like to use the phone, but the Activation Lock is on, and I clearly do not know the owner to help me take that off. Is there a way I can get past Activation Lock without knowing the iCloud info, because I literally have no idea how to get it.
