Ipad activation

Just tried using an old ipad for my kids and its giving me this message. ...Your ipad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable.

.the other option is to connect to itunea and i dont have access. Anyway to go around this. Tried hard reset from the hello screen its going straight to activation process. Been trying for a while now and no progress

This happened to me. My solution was removing the SIM card. I didn't even know I had a SIM card, I had only ever used it with WiFi. I popped the SIM holder with a paper clip end and just removed the old SIM card. Nothing else worked, including a frustrating call with Apple Support.

If you cannot activate your iPad2 - and don’t have access to a PC or Mac from which to attempt activation using iTunes - then your only alternative is to seek assistance from Apple Support. The link to Contact Support is at top-right of this page.


Given the age (now obsolete) of your iPad, you may have difficulty obtaining support from Apple.
