Why do you need screen time passcode for WHAT? You have to enter it to reset your phone if there is a restriction on resetting the phone. If you didn’t set the restriction then someone who had possession of the phone set it. If you don’t know the screen time passcode you can try these instructions—>If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support. Note that the phone must be upgraded to iOS 13.4.1 for this to work. If you can’t the only solution is to reset the phone to factory settings—>Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Are you sure you are using the Apple ID and password that you see when you go to Settings/[your name]/Name, Phone Numbers, Email? Specifically the email address labeled Apple ID? Is this the same Apple ID that the phone was logged in to when the screen time password was created?

That is the only way of resetting it without restoring the phone using Recovery mode and setting it up as New, as described in this Apple support article—>If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

If the Screen Time passcode was originally created in iOS 11 as the Restrictions passcode it may not be possible to recover it, unless you still have a device with that version on it and with that Restrictions passcode.

Did you have a Restrictions Passcode before the change over from Restrictions to Screen Time? If you did, the passcode you set up for Restrictions long ago is the code you would use for Screen Time. Your phone cannot create a passcode on its own. Only you or someone who had access to your phone could have created one.

Use the link fyip provided IF your phone is updated to iOS 13.4 or higher.

Did this change ?, you said, "the passcode you set up for Restrictions long ago is the code you would use for Screen Time."

It used to say something like that on the Screen Time info page but the wording has changed and does not say that any more.

I used to have a Restrictions Pass Code but when it changed to Screen Time I never used it, why, it's useless.

I just tested it and tapped Turn On Screen Time, once on I tapped Use Screen Time Passcode, it said Set a Screen Time Passcode, I said no way in **** and cancelled. Then I turned off Screen Time.

Why did it not ask me for my old pass code ?

Nice to see you are still posting lobsterghost1

When I updated to iOS 12 I had a screen time passcode left over from some experimentation I had done to answer a query in ASC. Because I forgot my Restrictions passcode, not having used it for many years, I used an app I found to get the screen time passcode, and I recognized it as a passcode I had used in various places in the past. That app no longer works with iOS 13, but there is now the “official” way to reset it for Screen Time.

Did you have any luck with this? I am having the same issue.

Why don’t you try reading the Apple Recommended post, which is just below the post from tverow that you responded to? This is a technical support forum. When people post problems other users suggest solutions. So you can usually find out the answer just by READING other messages after the initial post. I’m pretty sure that tverow read it and it solved their problem, because they didn’t ask again.

Apple did, but, as I said, if the passcode predates iOS 12 the recovery method won’t work. However, there were ways to recover the passcode on those older versions that no longer work with iOS 13.

What you can do is sync most of your data to iCloud by going to Settings/[your name]/iCloud and turning on the sync switches. Then restore to factory settings and sync back from iCloud to your phone. You will lose very little that way.
