Turning off options menu when trying to open applications

I went from an iPhone 6S to a 8plus and have been very frustrated with a feature that is very annoying.

whenever I try to open a text or phone contact it gives me a few options. The only thing I want to do is open the actual application as though I’m going to send a text or call someone on my contact list.

is there any way to turn this feature off? I would like to just text or call someone without having to click on a series of option on a menu.

You can see a screenshot of one of the menus I am referring to. hanks!
