How do I transfer my music from an iPod from 2005 to a new iPod 7 2019?
Transferring music from one iPod to another is not possible. If you have Apple Music or songs purchase from iTunes or iCloud music library they will show up on the new iPod when you sign in to your account and enable Apple Music/Sync. Songs that are on a computer will have to be transferred from that computer to the iPod.

Transferring music from an iPod to a Mac is not possible either. The iPod is synced with a library on a computer where the music is transferred from the computer onto the iPod. Transferring back from the iPod is not possible. To get the music on the new iPod, connect it to the computer that contains the iTunes library that was used to sync the old iPod.
Do you mean I can transfer the music from my old iPod to my MacBook Air and from there transfer the music to my iPod 7 ?
If so how do I transfer the old iPod music to my computer?
I've had several different computers since 2005. The only place the music is played come from the old iPod. I guess I'd better hang on to it. Thank you for kindly answering my questions.
