macbook air 2017 charger heating up seriously.

Hey there everyone,

I own a macbook air 2017 model which i bought last year in june. Since its purchase, its charger(87 watt) has been heating when i plug my macbook for charging. Within almost 30-40 minutes of charging, the charger gets so much heated up that i have to switch it off. Does this happen with all mac chargers or mine has some problem.

Since my macbook is in warranty till june this year, i can request any service from apple.

Please support me and suggest the possible problems.

Thankyou.

The 2017 MacBook Air is supposed to use a 45W MagSafe 2 power adaptor. How can you use a 87W power adaptor on it? Are you sure about your MacBook and power adaptor models?

In any case an overheating power adaptor is not normal and most likely unsafe.
