apple watch connectivity

Has anyone had trouble connecting there watch to a new iPhone 11 we have dumped everything off the watch made sure it is ready to go but still the phone cannot find it and I cannot set it up manually getting frustrated.

Can and I phone 14 pro connect with a series 3 Apple Watch? I can’t get my Apple Watch to complete connecting. It knows it’s trying to but it won’t connect with my new phone. I already tried resetting the Watch and restarting my phone.
