Have Apple TV generation 4, which does everything it should except show home movies from my iMac running High Sierra, and which are not in iTunes but in the Movies folder.
How do I do that please?
Secondary question: how to move home movies from a hard disk folder to the iTnues Movies Library?

Just drag the movies into iTunes and as long as they are either MPEG-4 or H.264 compressed MPEG-4 they can be viewed through Home Sharing if the iCloud account is registered on both iTunes and the AppleTV.
iTunes in the advanced preferences can manage the library or if it doesn't will let you keep the files in the original folder they were dragged from. If you manage the library, give yourself enough space for items to get duplicated into your iTunes managed folder.

TS files typically come off DVDs. If these were commercial DVDs, stop right there, we can’t help you. Those can not nor should not be converted, as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act forbids any such information from being portrayed. If you had created your own custom DVDs, the original .DV file files can be converted with MPEG4Streamclip. Once made into DVD, the reliability of exporting the video is difficult, and often breaks apart bits of the video into separate container like files. Stitching those videos can be tricky.
They are home videos made with Toast 10 (for burning on to DVDs for distribution to family), NOT commercial!
I am using Handbrake for the conversion, and it is working well, but it will take a day or two to get them all converted (81 videos, 1968-2019)!

Thanks. All my home movies are stored as TS files, so does that mean that I have to convert each one to mpeg-4?
