Some keyboard keys not working on MacBook Pro-(Mid-2012)

What can I do to fix my keyboard without logging in? When I turned on the MacBook, it wouldn’t let me type the password, and only a few keys actually worked. Before, I was cleaning the keyboard. With alcohol wipes, and a little got in, but at the beginning I still could type. Later, I couldn’t. But, what’s weird is that the keys on the keyboard still light up, but will not let me type all keys. Do you guys know how to figure this out WITHOUT entering the password?

Hi Rei,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that after cleaning the keyboard on your MacBook Pro, some of the keys aren't working and you're unable to login. I'd recommend trying these steps to reset the System Management Controller of your Mac: How to reset the SMC of your Mac

If the behavior continues after resetting the SMC, reach out to Apple for additional assistance: Get Support

Best Regards.
