iMovie time limit?

I created a 45 minute iMovie and am unable to share it. The warning on it tells me I cannot share anything over 15 minutes.....(I did not realize their was a time limit for iMovie videos). I then broke up the 45 minute video in Part 1-3. 15 mins per part. The warning then told me that my file was too large. Does apple have an application for longer videos? I would be happy to upgrade to that application. I typically do birthday/special event videos under 10 minutes long and never have an issue with the amount of clips, photos or voice recording on them. Any suggestions for an application that would allow me to share a 45 minutes video would be appreciated. TIA.

You didn't mention what version of iMovie that you are using, nor how much free space you have to receive the movie. iMovie 9 may have a 10 minute duration limit, can't recall for sure. iMovie 10 does not have a duration limit, other than the constraints of the available space at the movie's destination. Check your available space and make sure that it is large enough to contain the movie.

If the above is not applicable to you, try opening iMovie 10 while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie 10 will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your

projects. Now see if you can share out your project.
