Good Replacement For iPod Shuffle

My last iPod Shuffle's battery died.

External references state that the type of batteries used in in iPod Shuffles degrade over time even if they are not used.

Buying a overpriced sealed unit off eBay means it could be DOA due to the Apple technology used in these units.

Apple offers a replacement service for $49 + $6.95. It would be another $7 to send the unit. Thats $63 for a new battery that uses the same defective technology as before.

Apple's iPod Touch is not suitable for walking and jogging. Its way too large and way too expensive.

I've searched for other MP3 players but they all seem like they are just so much Chinese engineered junk not worth buying.

Whats is good option now that Apple no longer makes anything?

Likely the Sony Walkman would be the best option.

Do not,e that iTunes will not sync directly with these players, so music transfer will be manual and depend on how the player is expecting music to be added to them.
