Reverse image search on my own computer? (not using Google)

Basically I want to do what Reverse Image Search does in Google Images... BUT on my own desktop (imac), not on the web.

Sometimes I have a low rez photo. And I know I have a high rez of the same photo somewhere stored on my computer. But no idea where it is.

So is there a quick way to have an iMac (or some software) search my computer for visually similar images?

I've been wondering and searching for this for a long time, to no avail.
