"System Extension Blocked" but no "ALLOW" button [SOLVED]

hello friends.

I've had this problem for years (on High Sierra, upgraded to Mojave then Catalina) and scoured the web all over but I finally solved it with the help of my brother who is a Mac God (why didn't I ask him years before?).

3 steps (plus 1 non-necessary extra step):

    1. open terminal
    2. paste: "sudo spctl --master-disable" (no quotes)
    3. hit enter
    4. eat some salad and enjoy never seeing that message again

In Security & Privacy>>General you should now see "anywhere" under "Allow apps downloaded from:"

thank my brother.

It is not recommended to disable Gatekeeper.

There are easy ways to open apps/downloads from anywhere by holding the Control key to open/open with.

Gatekeeper is part of Macs owne built in adware/malware security.

Gatekeeper mechanism, central to security services, which tries to ensure that any code loaded is ‘safe’. Code signatures are only part of this.

XProtect checks the security and integrity of files, including in broader ways too, vulnerable document types, such as JPEG images, are also screened to ensure that they’re not malicious.

Apple’s Malware Removal Tool (MRT) an app which often complements XProtect’s signature-based screening, and can automatically remove all traces of many different species of malware.

System Integrity Protection (SIP) which ensures that nothing can tamper with key system files, or even Apple’s bundled apps.
