macOS 10.13.6 System extension blocked allow button not wotking

I was trying to install a program, and it said "System extension blocked". I went to privacy and security in system preferences and clicked allow, but nothing happened. I was reading in the forums that I must disable third-party programs for mouse/trackpad gestures, but I don't use them. I am not using remote control. Before a few weeks I hard resettled my MacBook, and before the reset I was not having this problem. Please help!

This is a bug in 10.13. There are loads of possible solutions on the web but I've never found one that worked.

The only solutions I found with experimentation were:

  • Upgrade to 10.14 (or higher)

or

  • Stay on 10.13 but turn off SIP (System Integrity Protection) - But be aware, this turns off security features that helps Apple protect you from malware.

I'd love to find a better solution though.
