Camera app not listed on Privacy Settings??

Hello!

I have a MacOS Sierra (10.12.6) and i had to install a programm for my class (Unity). Everything was working fine until i had to test my camera. When i followed the tutorial's instructions, i pressed the start buttn and the programm strats thinking and then shuts off.

I saw another solution where i would go to the Privacy settings of me camera and enable my camera for that program. But here is the real problem: my camera doesn't appear on the bar!

Is there any way to make it appear or fix it?

Thank you in advance

Hi mariana.from.1998,

Thanks for the post. I'd want to make sure I was able to adjust my Camera settings as needed as well. I'm happy to see if I can offer some assistance. From your photo, it looks like you do not see Camera as an option in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy.

You mentioned you're running macOS High Sierra. The setting you're referring to was introduced with macOS Mojave, so it's normal that you don't see that in your settings. This has mention of the features added in macOS Mojave for reference: New macOS features

Do you know if the app you're using is compatible with macOS High Sierra? Also, does your camera work for built-in apps like FaceTime or Photo Booth?

If your camera is working otherwise and your app requires it, it may be worth checking to see if your Mac is compatible with macOS Mojave. Be sure to back up first:

Back up your Mac with Time Machine

How to upgrade to macOS Mojave

I hope that's helpful. Feel free to reply back if needed.

Have a great day.

Hello chris_g1!

Thank you for the quick reply!.

Oh Ok! I tried researching this same issue — the solution was the Privacy Settings thing — but your piece of information of Mojave cleared it all out!

I had the macOS Sierra but yesterday upgraded to High Sierra.

I found out my other colleague friend has the macOs High Sierra and has the same issue. We thought the answer would be your question: If app was not compatible with macOS High Sierra, because our built-ins work on various apps like zoom and photobooth.

However that all changed when another colleague said that she has the masOS High Sierra and it worked on her mac!

I think I have to take this into the app's forum (the one I want to use Unity) because it seems i's somthing concerning the app itself and not the mac's camera.

Again, Thank you very much!
