No sound on new 16" macbook pro

Eliminate the obvious:

Get help if the internal speakers on your Mac don't make sound

If you can't hear sound from your Mac speakers - Apple Support

You have 14-days to return for a full refund or exchange for one that works as expected out of the box.

or call AppleCare Support at 1-800-APLCARE.

After that it would fall under a warranty repair.

This sometimes happens to my MacBook Pro. I'm not sure what causes it, but it happens after it's been up and running for days (or weeks) at a time.

Restarting the MBP always brings the sound back.

Try an NVRAM and SMC reset:

If that doesn't work you have 14 days to return it for a full refund and purchase another.
