Hello chantal124,
I understand songs aren't playing as expected in iTunes on your Mac. I'd like to help you out with this.
Are you clicking on a specific song in the playlist when this happens, or are you clicking on the playlist itself in the sidebar of iTunes? Is the song it's playing currently in that playlist? Also, is this happening with Smart Playlists, or is it happening with a playlist you manually created?
Try closing out of iTunes and reopening it and see if you experience the same thing. If you do, try out these steps next:
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care.
Yes, they are playlists i’ve created. Yes, it is from the sidebar at the left. I have at least 20 playlists. When I double click one of the first five playlists, it plays a song not even from that playlist, sometimes a Christmas song in my Playlist of Hip-Hop. If I double cluck the 6th playlist, it doesn’t play anything.
Yes, the Mac has been updated.
I have the same problem. I have many playlists. When I double click any of them in the left sidebar (it doesn't matter if it is an Apple curated playlist, or one of my own), Apple Music plays some other seemingly randomly selected song (and not one currently in the up-next queue). My music is up to date with iCloud, I have rebooted the computer, and done all of the standard steps. It has been doing this now for I think a few weeks (could be a bit longer).
Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing this awkward situation. Thanks!
