iPhone Dictation Sent to Servers?
Yes or No - Is there a way to use Dictation (Speech to Text) from the keyboard without it going to the Apple servers?
This is with Siri disabled.
There is conflicting info I have found, so I am looking for a definitive answer.
Source that says it can be used offline: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208343
"On iPhone 6s or later, and iPad, you can use dictation without being connected to the Internet."
Source that says it sends your data: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210657
"By using Siri or Dictation, you agree and consent to Apple’s and its
subsidiaries’ and agents’ transmission, collection, maintenance,
processing, and use of this information, including your voice input data
and Siri Data, to provide and improve Siri and dictation functionality
in Apple products and services."
On my iPhone it gives conflicting information too.
Under the "Enable Dictation" setting in the Keyboards, it says "You can use Dictation for English when you are not connected to the internet."
When I click to Enable it I get a pop up saying "Dictation sends information like your voice input, contacts, and location to Apple to process your requests."
So which is it? Does Dicatation send my information or can I use it without it sending my information?
