Clearing space on computer for iPhone backup
Can somebody please tell me how to clear space on my computer so that I can do my iPhone backup and update it?

Delete unnecessary apps, move music and/or photos to an external storage or back up to an external drive. The latter requires changing of the backup storage location. There are instructions to do that on the web.
