I'm looking for something in the 12 TB range as a backup to an external raid (Promise pegasus 2nd gen). Oddly enough the promise works fine after going to Catalina but I heard numerous reports of other brands having issues. Looking for something relatively inexpensive. Was going to go for a WD my book but started reading of issues. Any suggestions?

Try OWC. Pick an enclosure, pick your own drives, and DIY. Or, they have packaged units.
