iwatch is stuck in low battery mode

My I watch is stuck on low battery mode even after trying a hard reset, please advise.

Apple Watch Series 1, watchOS 5

You may need to Unpair and erase your Apple Watch, if that does not work, please contact AppleCare AppleCare Contact Info.

Did you restart by doing:

Restart your Apple Watch

Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
Drag the Power Off slider.
After your watch turns off, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.

Thank you. I tried that several times and the power off slider never came up. I also tried using a different power adapter and it’s still not taking charge.
