how do I change an apple ID on my Iphone from someone in my family to my own?

Have the person in your family who owns the phone do exactly what is contained in this link --> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Once the phone is prepared properly for a new user, you can then set it up using your Apple ID.
