Trying to Sync iPod Classic getting error

When I try to sync my iPod Classic I get the error message "The software required for this iPod is not installed correctly. Please repair iPod support using the Apps & Features page of the Windows Settings app."

This is a new computer. I backed up ITunes on my old computer and saved it to a backup drive. I loaded everything back to the new computer. All songs and artwork shows up in iTunes. The computer recognizes the device is connected as a USB device but iTunes doesn't recognize the device.

I don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

How do I get iTunes to recognize my device and sync properly?
