Phone stuck on power screen (black with white apple) for minutes now.

My phone was low on battery.

I plugged it in to charge.

While charging, I went to open an application.

Suddenly, my iPhone 8 was not responding properly.

With functional wifi, applications would not load and would close unassisted by me.

I turned the phone off.

A few minutes later, I turned it back on.

The power screen came on (black with white apple).

The screen has remained on the power screen for over 10 minutes now.

I attempted to turn off the phone.

I held the power button down for multiple seconds and it will not turn off.

What can I do?
