I selected 3 photos and deleted them in the Photos app, it took over 2 minutes.
My photos are not stored in iCloud, they are on my computer. This has been a problem for a while. Is Apple doing anything to fix all these problems in the Photos app? It seems to get worse and worse with each update.

Before running Etrecheck assign Full Disk Access to Etrecheck in the app's Privacy preference pane so that it can get additional information from the Console and log files for the report:

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine the root of the problem.
I see none of the usual suspects in the report.
How big is your Photos library?
Where is it located?
If on an EHD how is that drive formatted and connected to your iMac?
Do you have iCloud Library enabled in the library and, if so, do you have Optimize Mac Storage enabled?
