Missing FireWire Externals While In Safe Mode

When a 2017 Retina 5K 27-inch with 10.15.4 (19E287) is in safe mode, is it normal not to have any train-lined firewire externals that are connected to the computer via a Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter, show/mount?

All of the USB externals always show/mount in safe mode.

In Safe mode, certain kernel device drivers do not load, and there may one that controls recognition of external TB connected Firewire peripherals.
