Are you able to boot in SAFE MODE? Turn Power on and then immediately push and hold the SHIFT key until you see the log in screen. Log in to the screen and ensure that the computer boots up properly. After that shut down the computer again and reboot normally.
If the above does not work then the next basic step would be to reset SMC as shown here ➔ Reset SMC on your MacBook and if that does not work then try reset NVRAM/PRAM as shown here ➔ Reset NVRAM on your MacBook.
If none of the above steps work then there is the Recovery mode however that will take the longest. Let us know how you fare with the steps above.
