Do I need proof of purchase?

I received a gift from my Mom, an IPhone Pro max. She purchased with apple care. However she does not have receipt. Do I need proof of purchase if I use apple care or warranty?

That's such a fun gift! You do not need the proof of purchase for warranty or Apple Care. That is all tied to your serial number. Enjoy your new device!
