macbook pro 16 keeps stuttering every 10 seconds

Most noticeable when watching video, the video (image not sound) will pause for 1 second around every 10 seconds.

This is noticeable performing other actions too, e.g. navigating around, 3 finger swiping to another screen, typing, playing games etc.

I can see many others in different forums experiencing the same but I can't see any resolutions really.

Obviously this shouldn't happen on a(pretty much) stock, new machine.. so any help would be gratefully received. It's pretty annoying at the moment to have paid so much money for something that (on the face of it) struggles with tasks which a £100 tablet would not.

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test. Reboot and test as caches get rebuilt.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

You can reinstall the Combo update macOS 10.15.4 https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2037?locale=en_US

on top of your existing macOS 10.15.4 to sort anomalies.
