iPhone unresponsive

This morning my iPhone has become unresponsive. It froze while in use. At this point my lockscreen will appear when I plug in or unplug my phone. It does not respond with the touch screen in any way. It also does not respond to any of the buttons. I have been trying to an hour to do a hard set with the lock button but the phone doesn't respond to the button in any way.
