How is my iMovie stored

Just finished a five minute iMovie and wanted to share it with the folks who made the tour. I was not interested in uploading it to uTube. I tried to mail the movie and that failed. I tried to save it and got an error message. Tried to find it and could not!! If I cannot use content that I have worked hard to make then what good is this iMovie program anyway ? I have an iMac using Catalina and version 10 of iMovie.

Any insight would be appreciated!

You can share an iMovie project to an email. The email program must be enabled as the default email provider. Also, you won't be able to send the email itself if it exceeds the size that your email provider allows. In that case you would need to set up a free iCloud email account, that would allow you to send up to 5GB. Any bigger than that and you would need to split the movie and send it in two separate emails.

iMovie 10 projects automatically save as you do your editing. If you mean that you got an error message when you tried to share out the movie, what is the exact full text of the error message?

What do you mean that you tried to find "it" but could not? What is the "it" -- the shared out movie or the project itself? Since the share failed, there would be no shared movie to find. The project itself would be located in the projects browser where the projects are displayed as icons.
