how to update an iPad with iOS 9.3.3

I have an iPad with iOS 9.3.3. I'm also locked out of it because i have not used nor updated it in years.

the iPad shows up on my account but I'm still locked out.

Please advise....

You need to unlock the iPad before you can update, I presume you mean it's disabled.

Try this - If you’ve forgotten the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled – Apple Support
