Either 2015 or 2013? May be able to use same SSD if both use Blade. Use search if not.
You may find suitable SSD upgrades for either MacBook Air 7.1 or 7.2 at OWC. (11-in or 13-inch)
• MB/Air7.1: https://eshop.macsales.com/upgrades/macbook-air-11-inch-early-2015-2.2-ghz
• MB/Air7.2: https://eshop.macsales.com/upgrades/macbook-air-13-inch-early-2015-2.2-ghz/internal-drives
(from Upgrades Guarenteed to work with your MacBook Air: 7.1 shown)
[..IF the Title of your Thread is inaccurate -since the body of test suggests otherwise- note this..]
These can include a suitable case for re-use of original internal SSD as external storage; or not.
And seem to be 'blade' design. The instruction videos on site should help. With optional case,
these could be set up with format and system prior to take-apart/installation process. ~Some
mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13-in (non-retina) models appear to use this same 'blade' series SSD.

Good luck & happy trails!🌻🌤
PS: both 2013 and 2015 MacBook Air 11in/13-in models use same SSD part numbers.
Same info specs will apply to either for the SSD upgrade. ~ Be sure you format SSD
correctly (to APFS). A clone or backup from Time Machine may be helpful .. ahead of
installing new SSD in your MacBook Air. Use of the optional SSD enclosure is advised.
Good luck!🌞🍀
Since you've not specified storage capacity the original solid-state-drive has,
there are good options to upgrade the internal SSD for reasonable cost, with
precautions to avoid damage; an upgrade would well be within reason to do.
If you bought an example such as one with optional enclosure, that may suffice
to also use it with later MacBook Pro; depends on type of ports in new MB/Pro.
Not sure which MacBook Air you're talking about. There are no MacBook Air Early 2013 models.
If you're talking about a MacBook Air Early 2015 model, whether 11" or 13", the RAM is set at point of purchase, it is not upgradable.
