2020 magic keyboard won't pair with 12.9 ipad pro. Any ideas?

Eureka!!! This message is brought to by the new Magic Keyboard. My dopey owner (the guy typing) didn’t have the 13.4..1 update installed so now everything is perfect. Thank you James for all the help. We’re on it.
Nothing, as soon as it's connected it should work, make sure your running Ipad iOS 13.4.1
Well it should do if you put the keyboard on the case and make sure the smart connector is paired.
It's difficult to answer your question when your being so vague with your issues and what you are trying to do
It should literally connect and work, there is no set up process or pairing.
Yes. I went through that a couple of times this morning. Thank you for sending the link but even following those very simple instructions doesn't make the keyboard work. I had a thought about the 13.4 updates and am in the process of making sure my ipad is completely updated. Maybe that will work. I'll let you know. By the way, thank you for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated. It's maddening to receive a new product, without instructions, and then not really know where the problem may be. So, thank you.

You're saying the keyboard should work out of the box. Since mine isn't I'm asking what I need to do after attaching it to the keyboard case
I presume you have a 3rd gen or 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9?
Which iPad Pro 12.9 do you have? What generation?
