How can I set up visual voicemail on my phone? It does not give me the option anywhere. If I go into the Phone app and go to the voicemail tab, the only button is one to "call voicemail." I contacted Xfinity and their "solution" was to install a third-party app called HulloMail that requires a subscription fee. I’m not doing that, and I don’t know how they could think that was appropriate to suggest. What can I do?

Even though Xfinity uses Verizon network, I'm not sure they support visual voicemail, except with the 3rd party app you mention. Since voicemail is a carrier feature, they have the right to regulate how they handle it. Many carriers do not support Visual Voicemail, but have their own voicemail capability. You have to work with Xfinity, Apple is not involved in this.
Did you perform all the steps under “Get help with visual voicemail”?
That doesn’t help me. There is no “Set Up Now” option.
Yes, up to and including contacting Xfinity. They were, as I mentioned, no help. I might need to try them again, though.
