Editing text in Pages on iPad using Apple Pencil

I have been trying to find a solution for editing text in Pages document on iPad using an Apple pencil without success.

At present when I open an existing Pages document with a view to editing the text, as soon as I click the screen with the pencil I am prompted to insert and annotation or drawing. As in most cases I wish to do neither, can someone tell me how to edit the text either with or without using an Apple pencil.

Hello,

You can modify Apple Pencil’s behavior in Pages in Settings > Pages.
